1. Start shopping early! Many brides don’t realize this until it’s too late, but you should start shopping 9-12 months before your wedding date. Most of the time you’ll need alterations, which can take a few months to finalize.
  2. Whether it’s your family, your partner, or you — before your first appointment, figure out who will be paying for your dress! This can totally be awkward and we get it, but it’s the first step in identifying your budget and sticking to it.
  3. Keep track of what you’ve spent. Ah, the fun part! A great app to use is Mint — a free money management app. It’s super easy to use and links to your bank account/credit card so you can see transactions as they happen. When it comes to wedding planning, Mint will send you email/text reminders when payments are due!
  4. Save where you can! If you splurge on your dream dress, you may have to scale back someplace else, like on your shoes.
